Our Why

We Treat Others as We Would Like to Be Treated

At Walnut Creek Planing, we believe in the golden rule. It is our priority to treat every person—whether they are a client, employee, or vendor—with the same level of respect, honesty, and integrity that we would want for ourselves. For us, this extends outside of business; it also guides all of the interactions and decisions we make.

Our Approach to Relationships

We feel that it is of the utmost importance to be good stewards. We recognize that the resources, skills, and opportunities we have been given are blessings from God, and we believe it is our responsibility to use them to bless those around us. In all that we do, we seek to honor Him and give Him the glory for our success.

Clients

Our goal is to serve each of our customers to the best of our ability. We work hard each day to provide quality products that serve our customer’s needs and makes us a great business partner.

Team members

When it comes to our employees, we emphasize a workplace culture where every employee feels valued as a human being, not just as a worker. We feel that trust and mutual respect build relationships that ultimately result in a stronger team.

Business partners

And for our vendors and partners, this means that we put a high priority on building trust and creating long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with everyone. We believe that business should be conducted with integrity and reliability.

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

– Matthew 7:12

Our Mission & Vision

At Walnut Creek Planing, our mission is simple: Treat others as we want to be treated. Our vision is to embody God's principles in our daily business practices. For us, these aren't just statements—they're the foundation of our work. Each team member strives to remain humble, giving God credit for the talents, resources, and relationships He's provided. Since Dwight started our company with a single wood planer, we've steadily grown by God's grace.

In gratitude, we continually aim to serve our customers, partners, and community faithfully. To steward His resources wisely, we've established initiatives such as our Care Fund and guiding business principles, ensuring our mission and vision remain at the heart of all we do.

Employee Care Fund

Walnut Creek Planing is built first and foremost on a community of people who care very deeply for one another. People will always be our priority, from the receptionist in the office to the warehouse workers to the semi-drivers on the road.

No one should have to go through difficult times alone. Employees contributing to this fund are contributing to community members in need — all the while knowing that they will also be supported, if they would ever find themselves in the same situation.

Careers

Caring for Our Community

Life happens fast, and sometimes unexpected hardships come along. The Greater Purpose Care Fund acts as a safety net for those in need, whether due to medical emergencies, accidents, natural disasters, or personal tragedies. It serves:

  • Uninsured individuals who need financial support for medical treatments.
  • Insured individuals overwhelmed by medical expenses that exceed their coverage.
  • Community members in crisis who need emotional and financial support during difficult times.
